Insignificant Others By PYNK & Carol Taylor Blog Tour

Authors PYNK & Carol Taylor are traveling through various cities on their virtual tour promoting their new ebook, Insignificant Others. This dynamic storytelling duo has joined forces to combine their vibrant voices and fervent fan bases in a series of erotic novellas.  I’m so excited and honored that they stopped by my spot to offer advice on infidelity.
Some may only know about one or the other, or maybe even neither. So before they take the stage, let me give you a little insight into both of their stories.

Erotic City: Miami--It’s 2012 and what happened in 2008 at the controversial Erotic City swingers club in Atlanta is a distant memory. Now, with a second club located in Miami, Milan Kennedy and her heavyweight boxer husband, Lavender Lewis, have moved to Miami to raise his son. Lavender’s loony baby’s mama is serving time in prison for the attempted murder of Milan. For now all seems quiet, that is until Milan and Lavender are served child custody papers, and also, a test of fidelity arises just as the couple plans to add to their family, and expand their thriving business. Milan questions the very meaning of the lifestyle itself, and doubts the purpose of her own career as a swinger’s club owner, providing significant others a playground for fornication. Big Booty Trudy, Tamiko Kennedy, Jarod Hamilton, and Nancy Clark Kennedy all return, and a couple of freaky additions are added to the mix. The newest location, Erotic City: Miami, is a huge success, but at what cost? Will the wife-swapping lifestyle change Milan and Lavender forever, or will they survive the very temptations that their own sex business brings?

The Ex Chronicles: Plan B--Funny, erotic, sexy, and insightful, The Ex Chronicles: Plan B reveals the darker side of desire, when four women must overcome their lust or be trapped by it. Bourgie Hope, the editorial director of Shades magazine, fell in love with Derrick, a single dad from the projects, while at her wits end caring for her sick mother and handling her own high-powered career. Derrick proposed to Hope and she was ecstatic. But she’s now wondering if it's too much too soon, especially when she meets the sexy and seductive Max. Precious, a Shades editor, left her fiancé Darius after finding him in bed with another woman. She’s now back with him; hoping that this time he really will change. Bella, the overindulged wild child of rich parents, burned out, not only drugs and alcohol but also on her enabling ex Julius, and went into rehab. Now her parents are threatening to cut her off if she doesn’t get a job, something she’s never had to do. Half-Jamaican, half-British Zenobia sacrificed a successful modeling career for her ex Malcolm, but his constant cheating made it impossible for her to stay with him. Now she’s with David, but Malcolm wants her back. As we follow these best friends from New York, to London, and Amsterdam, they must cope with not only their careers and their past, but also their cheating exes and the love they still have for them. They each need a Plan B.

The Ex Chronicles Plan B by Carol Taylor is page after page of steam, emotions and feelings. The story primarily targets infidelity, trust, hurt and painful childhood & past memories. Each character definitely had a voice and a rollercoaster life. If I had to sympathize with any character, it would be Darius. Those that have already read the story are probably looking at me side-eyed. I’m not saying what he did was right; heck nothing was right with any of the characters. But the absentness of Darius father during his childhood & the “values” he taught him when he was in his life, proved that his adult life would have ups and downs.  The Ex Chronicles Plan B will leave you saying, “Man, these characters and their issues are far beyond deep.” It was a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m definitely looking forward to the next installment of The Ex Chronicles.

When Cheating with an Insignificant Becomes Significant

Cheating, infidelity, adultery - in each of these circumstances, someone went beyond the expectations of a commitment, and someone was left with the painful decision of staying or leaving, and possibly a broken heart. This subject is always an emotional one that can cause sadness and hurt. Most people have been there, and so have I. This is why I was so excited about the opportunity to write on the subject of infidelity in the novella series, INSIGNIFICANT OTHERS, with Carol Taylor.
The Dictionary website defines the word insignificant as meaning; too small to be important. When one steps outside of a relationship for a physical or emotional encounter with someone on the side who is too small to be important, less significant to them than their own significant other, to me, that side person becomes more important; so important that the affair with that person is worth more than the destruction of the main relationship. It takes maturity, wisdom, and devotion to not take that risk. No matter the reason; loneliness, temptation, a loss of will, a hug that went too far, etc., someone ends up getting hurt. Thus, the topic is a passionate one.
The first time I was cheated on was when I was in high school and I found out on the night of my prom that my boyfriend took his ex-girlfriend to her prom the night before (he wore the tux he'd gotten for my prom). Another time, I went out of town with a man to meet his mother for the first time, and she told me she hadn't seen him in a year, when he'd just told me he went to see her three months earlier. (He did travel to her town, but he stayed with his kid's mom). Or even when I sat in my man's car talking to him, and a phone vibrated from under the seat. That was when I found out he had two cell phones; one for me and his family, and one for his women. Five minutes later, one of those women called me on my phone (he'd called me from her phone one day and blocked the call) and she asked to speak to him. I told her to call him on his chic-on-the-side phone in 5 minutes, that I'd be out of his life for good and she could have him, and graduate to being the main phone woman. There are many more examples, but the point is, I've been there and I survived, though breakups are not pretty. At one point in my life, I was the cheater, and it was messy, so I can't throw stones. To this day, I don't even consider cheating. It's just not worth it. I live up to my commitments - period.
The story I've written in INSIGNIFICANT OTHERS is called Erotic City: Miami, and it centers around those who swing, and why anyone would do that, in particular, when it's done along with his/her mate. What would be the end result? Does it make things better to join in with someone who wants to satisfy their lustful thoughts for someone other than you? And when it's all said and done, wouldn't that couple really prefer to be monogamous? Is watching your mate have sex with an insignificant partner really worth it, simply because at the end of the day, you're the significant one, the number one girl/guy? I explore quite a few scenarios that will make you think. It surely made Milan Kennedy, the owner of Erotic City, think. Getting ourselves into situations that go too far, whether out on a lunch date with a coworker, or going to a neighbor's house for a cup of sugar, most times, without will-power, can be a, "Baby, one thing led to another," situation - thus infidelity.
Bottom line, be faithful, keep your word, and if what's good for the goose is good for the gander, fine; just make sure the trysts with the geese don't come back to haunt your loving commitment with your significant other, because he/she may forgive you, but they'll never forget.

Infidelity
The action or state of being unfaithful to a spouse or other sexual partner
Pynk and I choose the theme of infidelity for INSIGNIFICANT OTHERS, our 4-book novella series because, sadly, it is the one thing that almost everyone has experienced.
No one is immune to the hurt and pain caused by a cheating significant other, certainly not me. This is my account of dating a serial cheater. The email below was sent to me in December of 2009. Only the name has been changed to protect the not so innocent. Thinking I was the other woman after finding my business card in his wallet she copied me on the email she sent to him. I was lucky to be able to read it dispassionately because enough time had gone by. But you can feel the hurt, pain and confusion in her words. I understood how she felt, because, at one point, I’d felt exactly the same way. I felt sorry for her, so sorry that I didn’t tell her that he wasn’t cheating on her with me, I’d stopped dating him a year earlier after finding out he was cheating on me with her. He was now cheating on her with yet another woman.

***

Donald,
You are the scum of the Earth…the worst guy I have ever met!!
I am so hurt I can’t even put it into words. I want answers Donald. After over a year of me loving you, caring for you, and taking care of you financially, I can't imagine you have been lying to me this WHOLE time. How could you USE, ABUSE and HURT me and not even have an ounce of remorse.
Until you provide me with explanation for your lies and constant deceit, you will not hear from me or see me. I want you to tell me that you have been lying and cheating on me this ENTIRE year. Tell me the Truth, you COWARD!!
Time to STOP LYING!! You are living a lie, and have no love or care in your heart or soul. I have been faithful to you, and this HURTS!!

Review for Erotic City Miami
I've always been a fan of Pynk. I purchased both the kindle version and the audio version. Oh my goodness! Let's me be the first to say this was my first time listen to books. It definitely won't be my last. The narration was done by Paula Jai Parker-Martin. She knocked it out the ballpark. I felt like I was watching a movie. The way Pynk writes a story is simply amazing. As I listened, I could visualize each scene! The emotions of each character could be felt in each page. Erotic City: Miami was simply that erotic! I've said this over and over and I'll continue to say it, Pynk is a beast with a pen! She left me eagerly waiting on the next story in the series. Erotic City: Miami deals with sex addicts & infidelity. What happens when sex addicts can't get enough? Lives are changed forever. The ending will leave you scratching your head, your jaw dropped and you wanting to know what happen next. So many things are going through my mind as to what happened next. The ending is a cliffhanger of all cliffhangers. I never expected it to end the way it did. Pynk nailed it! I want to call her and force her to tell me what happens next. Erotic City is a great read for couples wanting to spice up their bedroom.
