A Pardon for Tommy begins with Chelsea, who is a college student, having yet another nightmare about something traumatic that happened when she was a child. She decides to go home for Thanksgiving, hoping to face her fears that's cause her nightmares for the past six years. This was a quick read that lacked development. For example, everyone in the story was dark brown-skinned or brown-skinned. There was a lot of telling with very little showing. A few times I found myself trying to figure out who some of the characters were and their reason for being in the story. The book cover didn't appeal to me considering the main character is an 18 year old. A Pardon for Tommy could have very well been a five star book but instead it get's three stars. I hope with the next book, the author invests in a developmental and line editor.
